Bio

Oscar Lee, of Dallas township, died last Wednesday morning, of asthma. Mr. Lee was a soldier in Co. B. 39th Iowa Infantry, and served faithfully through the war. It was in the service that he contracted the disease that has just terminated his life. He was 53 years of age, and leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. Deceased was a brother of Ed. F. Lee, of the same township. - Perry Chief. Mr. Lee was well know in this county (Madison County, Iowa) by many of the old 39th boys. [Winterset Madisonian 3 Apr 1879]
