Bio

Frank Mach, Sr., 84, of Gothenburg, died July 26, 2007, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Gothenburg. He was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Custer County to John and Anna (Hulinsky) Mach. Frank attended rural school in Custer County and worked on the family farm in the Sargent area. He then served his country during World War II and upon his discharge returned to Nebraska and was a partner in the Mach Brothers Blacksmith Shop in Comstock. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Brown Jan. 22, 1955, at Sargent. Following their marriage, Frank worked for many area farmers in Custer County and in 1977, he worked for Monroe's in Cozad until 1984. He then retired and did lawn mower repairs and odd jobs. Frank loved spending time with his family and family was very important to him. He loved animals and always had a special pet. His most recent favorite was "Brownie". Frank was a member of Callaway American Legion for over 60 years. Survivors include his wife: Jeanette of Callaway; three sons, Frank, Jr. and Jennifer Mach of Oconto, Bill Mach and Lisa Juel of Lexington, John and Angie Mach of Gothenburg; three daughters, Fran Hagler of North Platte, Patti and Joe Herndon of Gothenburg,Lucille and John Kutnink of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, six brothers and two sisters. It was Frank's wish his body be cremated. There will be a private family inurnment held at a later date at Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
