Oregonian, The (Portland, OR) Wednesday, December 19, 1990 ULAND S. DILL Uland S. ''Dick'' Dill of Southeast Portland, a retired automotive mechanic and machinist, died of causes related to age Saturday in a Portland hospital. He was 86. A private graveside service will be held Friday in Sunset Hills Memorial Park. He was born Jan. 1, 1904, in Cheney, Neb. Mr. Dill worked as a mechanic for many years, and had owned a sawmill in the Sisters area before moving to Portland in 1959. At the time of his retirement during the 1970s, Mr. Dill was employed by Ackley Manufacturing Co. He was a member of the Laurelhurst Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His wife, Marion E. Dill, died in 1983. Mr. Dill is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Myrick of Portland; son, Douglas of Eugene; sister, Virginia Howett of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, Robert R. of San Marcos, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or Boys Town in Nebraska.
