The Oregonian (Portland, OR) Saturday, December 22, 1990 KENNETH J. LEWIS Kenneth J. Lewis of Newberg, a retired Wyoming cattle rancher, died of emphysema Wednesday in a Newberg care center. He was 76. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Park. He was born Aug. 31, 1914, in Spokane. As a youngster, he moved to Lafayette, where he was raised and attended school. He married Jesslyn Smith on April 13, 1939, in Kelso, Wash. After moving to the Portland area, Mr. Lewis worked as a truck driver for Pacific Building Materials for many years. In 1977, the couple moved to Otto, Wyo., where Mr. Lewis bought a cattle ranch. Mrs. Lewis died in 1985, and he moved back to Newberg in November. Survivors include his sons, Kenneth J. Jr. of Newberg, Donald of Lebanon, James of Amity, Michael of Basin, Wyo., and Joseph of Lafayette; daughter, Leah Severson of Newberg; sister, Ellen Timmerman of Portland; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
