Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), December 28, 1911, p. 8, col. 4 Linwood Another early settler, Mrs. Fanny Parolek, died at her home here Friday, Dec. 22, at 7 p. m., at the age of 64 years. She had been ailing for a number of years, but her illness was never thought serious until last week, death resulting in a few days after development of serious illness. Mrs. Parolek was born in Moravia, Europe, August 9, 1847, passed her childhood there and was married there. She came to the United States with her husband and children in October, 1879, settling in Butler county, Nebraska, and resided in the vicinty of Linwood until 1902, when Mr. and Mrs. Parolek's youngest son, Frank, was married, they then moving to Linwood. The funeral services were held on Sunday morning, Dec. 24, at 11 o'clock in the Catholic church and were conducted by Rev. Father Nemec. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Abie. Mrs. Parolek is survived by her husband, 73 years of age, two sons, John and Frank, and three daughters, Mrs. Fanny Draper of Custer county, Mrs. Mary Buchta, residing in South Dakota, and Mrs. Anna McGowen, residing in Canada. All attended the funeral, with exception of the last two named, who were unable to get here. The husband and children have the heartfelt sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
