Pleasant Mills, died Sunday at his home. In failing health for the past several years, Mr. STEFFEN's death was caused by a complication of ailments. Born September 12, 1875 in Washington Township, he was the son of Isaac and Emma MOECKER STEFFEN. He was married to Margaret BILGER of Washington Township October 15, 1893, who preceded him in death October 27, 1945. A son, Hiram Jr. was killed in action during World War II, and a son, Isaac, unheard from in a number years, is believed dead also. Mr. STEFFEN farmed in the Selinsgrove and Mt. Pleasant Mills areas in early life and in 1917 began work with the Department of Highways in Snyder County. He worked as a caretaker for 35 years, and was employed as foreman for the construction of many of the secondary roads in the county. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Bertha STEFFEN at home; four grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton STEFFEN of Middleburg; and Charles STEFFEN of Fremont, Nebraska; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie SCHNEE and Mrs. Emma BRUBAKER of Sunbury; Mrs. Joyce BLOSSER of Penn Brook; and Mrs. Della ROWE of Selinsgrove. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Garman Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant Mills and interment was in the Grubb's Church Cemetery, in R.R., Mt. Pleasant Mills. The Rev. S. H.
