Burl Raymond Dickenson, Sr., 89, of Lawton, died September 5, 2012 in Lawton, Oklahoma. The son of Etta Mae (Harmon) and Jim Dickenson, he was born September 25, 1922 in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Burl worked for many years as a plumber. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Odd Fellows. Burl loved to fish and hunt but spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest enjoyment. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline Dickenson; son, Dennis Dickenson; granddaughter, Recka Dickenson; and brother, Johnnie Dickenson. Burl is survived by his son, Burl Dickenson, Jr. and wife Eileen of Marlow; daughter, Janet Ludwig and husband Larry of Lawton; twelve grandchildren; Jessica and Kellan Fortney of Lawton, Christopher Ludwig of Chickasha, Kyle Ludwig of Lawton, Chad and Leslie Dickenson of Lindsay, Randy Dickenson of Lindsay, Jared Dickenson of Marlow, Christy and Dustin Haynes of Maysville, Lisa and Troy Butler of Dibble, Donnie and Tinisha Dickenson of Maysville, Heather and Caleb Clark of Maysville, Ranea and Brother Alcorn of Chickasha, and B.J. Dickenson of Chickasha; fifteen great grandchildren, Siddalee Fortney of Lawton, Raeanne Haynes of Maysville, Jacob England of Dibble, Brayden Butler of Dibble, Kendra Butler of Dibble, Nickalas Clark of Maysville, Jaci Jenson of Lindsay, Zoey Neeley of Maysville, Joseph Neeley of Maysville, Therese Moore of Maysville, Renzie Alcorn of Chickasha, Reiobi Alcorn of Chickasha, Misty Mashburn of Duncan, James Lorenson of Texas and Isaac Dickenson of Chickasha; two great-great grandchildren, Kaydon Mashburn of Duncan, and Kyler Mashburn of Duncan; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with Rev. Steve Mahan officiating. Interment will follow in the Verden Cemetery.
