Bio

Stan R. Novotny, 87 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Stan was born August 16, 1925 in Wahoo, Nebraska to Joseph and Ludmilla (Cech) Novotny. He grew up in Wahoo and was a 1942 graduate of Wahoo High School. Stan married Lorraine M. Niewald on September 21, 1950 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. The couple moved to Fremont in 1953. Stan was employed in the automotive industry in auto sales for 42 years in both the Fremont and Wahoo area. He was awarded the Legion of Leaders by Chevrolet for sales achievement for 21 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont, life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1497 and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 of Fremont. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; daughters & sons-in-law, Debbie & Jim Albin of Omaha, Susan & Ron Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nancy & Jerry Detmer of Fremont, Denise & Len Kary of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Donna & John Ritonya of Phoenix, Arizona; brother-in-law, George Brabec of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Kathy Novotny and Helen & husband, Ross Cavaleri all of Omaha and Rose Novotny of Wahoo, NE; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Adeline Reed, Marie Novotny and Marge Brabec; and 5 brothers, James, Lloyd, George, Joseph & Frank Novotny. Funeral Mass will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Father David Belt will officiate. Vigil Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, NE in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
