Bio

Ms. Vivian W. Stammann, age 75, of Wharton, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2009 in a Houston hospital following a brief illness. Friends may call for visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the church. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. Cremation will follow. Preceded in death by her parents. Survived by her sister and brothers; Ruth Stammann-McGwier of Webberville, TX, Leonard Stammann of Richmond, TX, Rev. Daniel (Charlotte)Stammann of Boston, MA, many nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and aunt to all. Graduate of Wharton High School 1952, attended Wharton Junior College and graduated from University of Texas. While at UT she was on All Campus Advisor Council at Newman Hall, member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Wharton County Interfaith Coalition in Wharton, TX. Ms. Stammann was a lifelong resident of Wharton and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. Ms. Stammann worked as an executive secretary for Texas Gulf Sulphur until her retirement. She was active in the Catholic Daughters and the Fellowship Committee at Holy Family Catholic Church and also was a member of the Pilot Club and SHARE. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Fellowship Committee at Holy Family Catholic Church or Holy Family Catholic Church, 2011 Briar Lane, Wharton, TX 77488.
