Bio

Grady Benjamin Hutton was born April 13, 1917, in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County), son of William Brown Hutton (1889-1951) and Stella Terry (1889-1956). The 1920 Federal Census for Speairs, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Grady B. Hutton, age 2 years 9 months, born in Oklahoma; living with his father, Brown W. Hutton, a farm operator, age 30, born in Tennessee; and his mother, Stella, age 30, born in Texas. Also living in the household was Grady's older brother, Arvil W. Hutton, age 7, born in Oklahoma. Grady married Rudell Onilla Sawyer, who was born July 16, 1919, in Quinlan, Texas (Hunt County). The 1940 Federal Census for Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Grady B. Hutton, owner of a car lot, age 22, born in Oklahoma; and his wife, Peggy, age 19, born in Texas. Grady and Peggy are living next door to Grady's father and his family. Grady served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II. Grady died July 27, 1968 in Durant and was buried there in Highland Cemetery. Rudell died December 6, 1992, in Durant, and was buried beside her husband.
