Sherman (TX) Democrat p A-8 January 27 1988: Van Alstyne- Services for Myrtle Mae Lockard of Van Alstyne, 85- year old housewife who died Monday in Medical Plaza Hospital in Sherman will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rob Prevost of Elmont Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mrs. Lockard was born in Texas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Nathan Skaggs and married Ray Lockard in Gainesville. She was a Baptist. Surviving are her son, Billy D. Garner of Mesquite; sisters, Irma Skaggs of Sherman, Daisy Rollins of McKinney, Mary Swindell of Mesquite, Mattie Gary of Lake Texoma, Joyce Rollins of Whitesboro and Patsy Morriss of Littleton Colorado; brothers, A. D. Skaggs of Fort Lufton Colorado ; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
