Bio

According to the mortality schedule of the 1885 census he was a farmer, married, born Bohemia, lived in Butler County for 30 years, and died from "cancer in face" the previous November at his home in Linwood Township, Butler County, Nebr. age 45 years. His probate file states he died October 21, 1884 and his heirs were his wife Rosa and nine children: Mary Shonka, Rosa Dushatka, Hellen Dushatka, Christie Koskan, Frank Johanes, Annie Virgal, William Johanes, and Hedwika Johanes.
