NOTE: His middle initial was D not N as stated in his obituary. The People's Banner (David City, Nebr.), April 29, 1948, p. 1, col. 5 Edward N. Harris Died Friday, April 23 Edw. Harris, 66, passed away unexpectedly at 12:15 a.m. Friday, April 23, in the David City hospital, from hemorrhage of the brain. Funeral services were held in St. Mary's Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning, in charge of Rev. Wm. Murphy. Music was by the Sisters choir. The pallbearers were Herman Walden, Ed Perry, Claude Raitt, Everett Haney, Paul Duren and Roy Grubaugh. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery. In attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. John Branigan and Mrs. Roy Snedeker of Columbus, Mrs. Lottie Minick and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Niensthier of Liberty, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schmocker and Mrs. Opal Huggler of Osceola, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Parolek of Fremont and Marvin Branigan of Columbus. Edward Norman [sic] Harris, son of Thomas and Sarah Harris, was born Sept. 8, 1881, in Iowa. He was married in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, on Nov. 27, 1912, to Cora Haney. To them were born three children, who with their mother survive. They are Mrs. Joseph Novacek of Valparaiso, Ella Adkins of David City and Dean Harris of Omaha. Also surviving Mr. Harris are five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Minick of Liberty; and one brother, Charlie Harris living in Oregon. Mr. Harris and family moved to David City in 1932. In his earlier days he was a farmer. He was a man of cheery disposition and had many friends. __ CARD OF THANKS We offer our sincere thanks to our many friends who helped to make our sorrow lighter.
