Bio

Roger V. Marek, Jr., 79, died Monday, November 23, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital. Funeral Mass was at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour with the Rev. Richard Eldredge, pastor, officiating. Burial was in S.P.J.S.T. Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7871. Services were under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home. He and Lillian Sokora were married November 19, 1941, in Seymour. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in several African and European campaigns. He was a lifelong resident of Baylor County and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7871. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Jackson of Seymour and Beverly Fisher of Electra; a son, Dennis of Seymour; a sister, Frances Hejl of Seymour; two brothers, Frank of Seymour, and Victor of Denton, Texas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
