MARTHA JORDAN was born in Hungerford, TX on April 8, 1922, to John C. and Libby (Baca) Sula. She passed away in Houston on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Martha is preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Lewis Creswell; children, Shirley C. Dunn and John Creswell; sisters, Georgia Covert and Lee Carville; brother, Bill Sula; a cousin, Justin V. Ripple, Jr.; special pet, Gretel, and her husband of 38 years, Henry Jordan. She is survived by nieces: Carol, Judy and Mary Jo; nephews: Chris, Kurt, Lem, David, Wayne, Mike, Billy, Wayne and a sister-in-law, Marie Creswell. Martha was a devoted mother. Her best times were spent with her children who always came first. She was a private person, loved the outdoors and making her patio beautiful. As an avid sports fan, her love for Texas Aggie Football spanned 60 years. Martha was very proud of her Czech heritage. The family was hard-working, happy, loved music, and she played a mean game of 42. Martha's dad played the drums in a band and her mother played the accordion. Her grandfather, Frank Baca, Jr., and his father, Frank Baca, Sr., played in the Famous Baca Band in the early years. Martha lived in Alvin, TX for over 50 years. She worked at Red Cross Drug for 40 years, Rexall Drug for 5 years. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star-Alvin Chapter #15, a member of Grace Episcopal Church where she served on the Alter Guild, and worked with the Girl and Boy Scouts. After retiring in 1989, she moved to Houston. It was her wish to have no memorial service. Her ashes will be lovingly spread under an oak tree she planted, 69 years ago, in Gonzalez, TX. Her life was full and she savored much; good friends, a loved ones touch, and memories of Aggie and Longhorn friends she took with her. "Be not burdened with time of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of morrow." Love you all, Martha NOTICE: Martha is not buried here beside her husband, Henry Jordan, but at her request to have no memorial service. Her ashes will be lovingly spread under an oak tree she planted, 69 years ago, in Gonzalez, TX. This is noted above in the obituary. This Memorial on Find A Grave is to connect her to her husband Henry Jordan of 38 years. She does have a double tombstone here in this cemetery with her husband as displayed on this Memorial.
