Raymond L. Larson, 81, Heimdal, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2005 [sic -- 2006], in Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, N.D. Mr. Larson was born Jan. 12, 1925, near Heimdal. He graduated from Benson County Agricultural School, Maddock, N.D., in 1942. He served from 1945 to 1946 in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then worked for Boeing, Seattle. In October 1946 he married Sybil Solheim in Tacoma, Wash. In the early 1950s, they moved near Heimdal, where he farmed until retiring in 1989. He also was a mail carrier until 1983. His wife died 1970. On Feb. 14, 1972, he married Dallas Hakanson in Nashua, Iowa. He is survived by his wife; a son, David (Penney), Fessenden, N.D.; two daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Engelhardt, Black Hawk, S.D., Gail (Wesley) Neuenschwander, Seattle; three brothers, Leo (Irene), Fessenden, Ernest (Dee), Denver, Dennis (Vi), Fargo; two sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Woll, Minneapolis, Violet (Willis) Springer, Lodi, Calif.; two grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren. Visitation: Sunday from 3 to 7 in Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden. Funeral: Monday at 10:30 in Hoff Lutheran Church, Heimdal. Burial: Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden.
