Bellville Times, February 15, 1990: Mrs. Mary Peter Funeral Service Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Peter, 78, of Sealy, were held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, with Msgr. B.J. Zientek celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. The parish vigil rites were held Friday evening, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. from the Etlinger Funeral Home Chapel in Sealy, followed by the parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers were Chris Mlcak, Steven Mlcak, Kenneth Brown, Jeff Whitzel, David Jones, and Eugene Doggett. Mrs. Peter died Thursday, Feb. 8, 1990, in a local nursing home. The former Miss Mary Pechanec was born on May 11, 1911 in Frydek to parents, Frank and Mary Brandt Pechanec. She was raised and attended school in Frydek and was married to John Peter on Dec. 8, 1927 in Waco. Mrs. Peter was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Alphonse Mlcak of Sealy; sisters, Mrs. Lilliam Boehl and Mrs. Annie Polasek, both of Houston, and Mrs. Lucy Hunter of Humble; brothers, Joe Emil and Willie Pechanec, all of Frydek, and Charles Pechanec of Sealy; grandchildren, Miss Laurie Brown, John and Mark Brown, Miss Erin Whitzel, and Miss Emily Whitzel. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Peter; parents, Frank and Mary Pechanec; and a brother, Frank Pechanec.
