Bio

Guy W. Strong, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Strong, was born in Ord on Nov. 1888 and died at his home in Callaway at the age of 51. He grew to young manhood in the Ord community and on Aug. 24, 1911 was married to Alice Jane Hather, daughter of W. J. Hather. The family home remained in Ord until 1921 when the Strongs moved to Callaway. Left to mourn are his wife, his father, five children, Dale, Elmo, Mrs. Leta Stairs, Betty and Jerry; also one brother, Marion, one sister, Mrs. George B. Nay, and four grandchildren. Mr. Strong united with the Methodist church in 1919 and remained a member until his death. Funeral services were held from Frazier's chapel Thursday, Dec. 21, with Rev. Zentz from Callaway in charge, assisted by Rev. Robberson. Pallbearers were Jim and Bud Covert, Ben Arnold, Arthur McLain, Earl Hanson and Ed Timmerman. Mrs. Mark Tolen sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Robert Noll. Mrs. John Mason and Mrs. Wilbur Rogers had charge of the flowers.
