Married Frank Stastny. Sister of John Vaclav Jelinek (1862-1929). She immigrated to the United States on the SS Pennsylvania, which left Hamburg, Germany on January 19, 1907 and arrived in New York City on February 1. The ship manifest includes Maria Stastna (age 42, born [Golzenitton?], Anton Stastna (age 19, born [Vestasy?], Anna Stastna (age 14, born [Hliszo?], and Jan Stastna (age 9, born [Hliszo?], nationality Austria, race Bohemian, last residence [Baken?], destination Brainard, Nebraska where they intended to join her brother Jan Jelinek. '''''''''' The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), March 3, 1921, p. 8, col. 4 DWIGHT ITEMS Mrs. Mary Stastny died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Linhart, Monday. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church, Wednesday, Father Pazourek and Msgr. A. J. Klein of Brainard officiating. Burial was at the Catholic cemetery.
