Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), December 22, 1932, p. 1, col. 5 PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY WAS IN NINETY-FIRST YEAR Mrs. Margaret Reisdorff Died at Home of Daughter. Mrs. Margaret Reisdorff, in her 91st year, died on Friday, Dec. 16, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter M. Medinger, and Mr. Medinger in North David City, with whom she had made her home for the past four years. Seh sustained a stroke of paralysis a year ago from which she never recovered. Her maiden name was Margaret Homan. She was born June 12, 1842, at Neuhausgen, Luxemburg, grew to young womanhood there and was married there to Peter Reisdorff. Mr. and Mrs. Reisdorff came to America in 1884 and located on a farm three miles north of David City which was their home continuously until Mr. Reisdorff's death, February 6, 1922. Mrs. Reisdorff was the mother of 12 children, four of whom died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Frank Weiss, of Boelus, died five weeks ago. The living children, four daughters and three sons, are Mrs. Henry Bartholome and Mrs. Peter Medinger of David City, Mrs. Annie Livingston of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Paul Giltz of Kearney and Peter, Nick and John Reisdorff of David City. She also leaves 33 grandchildren and 30 great-granchildren. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, Dec. 19, in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, conducted by Rev. R. L. Wageman. The pallbearers were Pete and John Bartholome, Nicholas Giltz, W. W. Timms, Merwyn Timms and Joseph Weiss. Burial was in the David City Catholic cemetery. All of the children except Mrs. Livingston were present at the funeral. Other relatives in attendance from elsewhere were Ella and Joe Weiss and sister Annie and her husband from Boelus. Mrs. Reisdorff was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Mary's church, Luxemburg. She was also a member of the Altar Society. MARGARET REISDORF Mrs. Margaret Homan Reisdorf passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter M. Medinger on Friday, December 16th, after an illness covering a period of the past year. She was stricken with paralysis in January of this year and has since been in failing health. She was born in Neuhausgen, Luxemburg, Germany, on June 12th, 1842, having attained the age of 90 years 6 months and 4 days at the time death overtook her. During her residence in Germany she was united in marriage to Peter Reisdorf. They came to the United States in 1884 and located on a farm 3 miles north of David City where they made their home continuously for forty-five years. Mr. Reisdorf passed away on February 6th, 1922. Four years ago Mrs. Reisdorf came to David City where she has since made her home with her daughter, who cared for her until her death. Mr. and Mrs. Reisdorf had a large family. There were twelve children, four dying in infancy. The children surviving are: Mrs. Henry Bartholomew, Mrs. Peter M. Medinger of this city, Mrs. Anna Livingston of Peoria, Illinois, the only one who was not here to the funeral, Mrs. Paul Giltz of Kearney, Peter, Nick, and John Reisdorf, all of David City. Besides these children there are 33 grand children and 30 great grand children. Others here for the services were Ella Wise, Anna Wise, and husband and Joe Wise, all of Boelus, Nebraska. Mrs. Reisdorf was a devoted member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church on the valley and a member of the Altar Society. Funeral services were conducted from the St. Mary's church in this city at 9:30 Monday morning, with Father Wageman officiating. Pall bearers were Worth W. Timms, Joseph Wise, Merwin Timms, Pete Bartholomew, Nicholas Giltz and John Bartholomew. Burial took place in the Catholic cemetery near David City.
