Dianne K. Svara, 60, of Cedar Bluffs died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at her home. Dianne was born July 26, 1952, to Dale and Dorothy (Janek) Slaughter. She attended grade school at St. Wenceslaus and graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1970. During school years, Dianne lived in Wahoo until moving to Cedar Bluffs before graduation. In 1973, Dianne was married to Nick Svara at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs. Through the years, she worked for Hellstar, Campbell Soup and the Cedar Bluffs grocery store. Dianne's passion for the last 20-plus years was teaching CCD classes at St. Mary's. She is survived by her husband, Nick Svara; son, David Svara of Fremont; father, Dale Slaughter of Cedar Bluffs; and sister, Donna Slaughter of Cedar Bluffs. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Slaughter. The funeral will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs with the Rev. Matthew Vandewalle officiating. Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo.
