Bio

Known as "Susie", her given name was Nicholas Missouri Johnson, after her father, William Nicholas Johnson. Her mother was Tina Susanna Pittman. She had five sisters when her mother died. Her father then married Doshia Williams and they had four sons and three daughters. Susie married Thomas Terry Skaggs with whom she had a son, Virgil Skaggs. Thomas died at a young age and is buried at Rock Creek Cemetery; they likely lived in that community. She then married Will Adams. Besides her own children, Susie and Will raised her nephew Horace Johnson after her sister-in-law died. They lived in the country in Malta, Texas. The land has remained in the family.
