. Manning 'Queen Louise,' 96, passed away Aug. 21, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at St. Elizabeth Church, 75th and Main St., Kansas City, MO, followed by visitation until 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the St. Elizabeth School Endowment. Louise was born Nov. 9, 1915 in Marion County, KS to Nicholas P. and Anna (Ruby) Weis. She married John Wm. Manning on Aug. 2, 1938 and later moved to Kansas City, MO. Louise was a member of the Whitesell-Finnell Auxiliary VFW Post #971 in Newton, KS, and the St. Elizabeth Altar Society. She was a proud and dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. Louise was an avid reader and a keen bridge player. She was a loving mother, and grandmother whose home was always a welcome place surrounded by beautiful snapdragons and lilac bushes. Louise is survived by her son, John Manning and wife Shirley, Atlanta, GA; daughters, Mary Sue DeMartini, Kansas City, MO, Jo Ann DeSmet, Overland Park, KS and Elizabeth Dold and husband, Timothy, Overland Park, KS; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Manning; brothers, William, Jack, Edward and James Weis.
