The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), December 26, 1918, p. 8, col. 5 DWIGHT DEPARTMENT Jerry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Krenk, living near Ulysses, died Sunday morning at 4 a.m., as result of flu and heart trouble. This is a sad blow to one of our oldest families here, and they have the sympathy of their many friends here. A large number of persons from here attended the funeral which was held in Ulysses Monday morning. '''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), January 2, 1919, p. 1, col. 3 Death. Jerry Krenk, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Krenk, of Plum Creek township, died at the parental home on Sunday, Dec. 22, with influenza-pneumonia, after illness of five days duration. The funeral services were held on December 23 at 10 o'clock a.m. and were conducted by Rev. Father M. Pazourek. The pallbearers were Joseph Trojan, Rudolf Trojan, Emil Krenk, John Krenk, Leo Hottovy and Ed Liska. The honorary pallbearers were Misses Rosie Trojan, Eleanore Mares, Alice Stransky, Tillie Krenk, Josephine Hurt, Lucie Krenk and Helen Krenk, who carried broken candles, symbolic of his broken life. Jerry Krenk was born March 8, 1900, in Seward county. He is survived by his parents and one brother, Louis Krenk. __ p. 4, col. 3 Card of Thanks – We hereby express our many thanks and deep appreciation to our neighbor, Mr. John Trojan, who assisted us during the sickness and at time of death of our beloved boy; also to my brothers, Frank V. and John F. Krenk; also to my brother-in-law, Joseph Vogeltanz, and Charles Hein, who assisted us at time of the death and at time of the funeral of our beloved son, Jerry. We also are grateful to the school children of Dist. No. 75 for donating nice wreath of flowers; also we express many thanks to the rest of the friends and relatives for donation of the beautiful flowers and attending the funeral. The father and mother and brother once more express our many thanks to all the relatives and friends who assisted us at time of death and at time of funeral of our beloved son and brother.
