Edward M. Hradec, 87, of Clarkson, Nebraska, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at his rural Clarkson home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 20, at 10:30 AM at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with Father Tim Forget celebrating the mass. Burial will be in the Clarkson Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM Sunday at church. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at church. Ed was born on September 19, 1924, on the family farm north of Clarkson to Anton and Frances (Vyhlidal) Hradec. He attended rural Stanton County school and then began farming. On September 27, 1948, Ed was united in marriage to Arlene Hogendorn in Omaha. They made their home on the farm north of Clarkson where he farmed and raised livestock. In addition to farming, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Ed was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Ed is survived by Wife: Arlene Hradec of Clarkson, NE Daughter: Karen Hradec of Omaha, NE Son: Ken (fiancé Cheryl Johnson) Hradec of Lincoln, NE Daughter: Kathy Baumert of Clarkson, NE Grandson: John (Heather) Baumert of Clarkson, NE Grandson: Steve (Melissa) Baumert of Clarkson, NE Grandson: Joe (companion Erin and her son Aiden) Hradec of Champaign, IL Granddaughter: Jena (Owen) Lasswell of Taylorville, IL 5 great grandchildren: Hannah Baumert, Gracelyn Baumert, Isaac Baumert, Ava Baumert, and Ella Baumert. He is preceded in death by Parents: Anton and Frances Hradec Brothers: Bill Hradec and Leonard Hradec Sister: Irene Koza
