Bellwood, Oct. 10 – Just as he was returning to the house Monday evening from a day's work at shucking corn, George Zeller, living west of Bellwood, dropped dead, presumably from a paralytic stroke. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) morning from St. Peter's Catholic church in Bellwood. A wife and three daughters survive him. '''''''''''''''' Butler County Press , October 24, 1918, p. 6, col. 4 George Zeller, who dropped dead Monday afternoon, Oct. 7, at his home in Alexis township, leaves a wife, three daughters, Lydia, Rovena and Evelyn, a brother and four sisters in Germany and a sister in Missouri. His wife was Miss Anna Kosch and they were married June 23, 1903. Mr. Zeller was born November 3, 1873, in Bavaria, Germany, and came to this country and Butler county in 1893. After a few years he purchased the farm where he and his family lived. Rev. Fr. Wagner of Shelby was celebrant at the funeral mass held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Bellwood Catholic church. He was assisted by the Rev. Fr. Boll of David City, Rev. Fr. Mock of Luxemburg and Rev. Fr. Frans of Bellwood, the latter preaching the sermon. The out-of-town persons at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Kosch and Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Kosch of Shelby, Mr. and Mrs. George McGowan of Ulysses and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kosch of David City.
