Son of Ernest and Theresia (Frank) Selzer. Married Maggie Meister on September 29, 1890 at Columbus, Nebr. by a County Judge. '''''''''''''''''''' The Daily Telegram (Columbus, Nebr.), January 21, 1948, p. 3, col. 4 & 5 Frank Selzer, 89, Dies; Services On Saturday Frank Selzer, 89, passes away at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Bellwood. He had been bedfast for over two years. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic church in Bellwood with Msgr. O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in the Luxembourg cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Friday until the hour of the service. Relatives and friends will pray the rosary at 8 p.m. Friday at the Gass chapel. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Selzer, he was born June 9, 1858, in Austria, and learned the trade of a tailor. At the age of 21, he came to Nebraska with his parents and they homesteaded on a farm west of Bellwood. Later, he opened a tailor shop in Bellwood and in 1904 became employed with the Bellwood Telephone Company. In 1917 he closed the tailor shop and devoted full time to telephone work from which he retired in 1931. He was united in marriage to Margaret Eva Meister on Sept. 29, 1890, in Columbus. Mr. Selzer was a member of St. Peter's Catholic church in Bellwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who passed away in December 1925, a son who passed away in April 1917, and one sister. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sue Lombard, Ventura, Calif., Mrs. Harry Nantkes of Columbus and Miss Camilla, at home, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. John Blahak, sr., of Columbus. O'Connor officiating. Burial was in the Luxembourg cemetery and pallbearers were Frank Gunderson, A. G. Peck, Frank Markius, Dr. McNailey, A. C. Kosch and Frank Stemper.
