Messenger-Inquirer - (Jan/28/2005) SACRAMENTO -- Geneva Lee "Dukes" Hoagland, 87, of Sacramento died at 10:40 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in Madisonville. She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Muhlenberg County. She was a homemaker and member of Sacramento C.P. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Elihu "Toby" Hoagland on May 9, 1995. "God must have loved Ms. Geneva, He gave her many children." She is survived by her six children and their spouses, three sons, Elihu "Buddy" (Ruth) Hoagland III of Island, Leroy (Wanda) Hoagland of Dunmor and Paul (Ann) Hoagland of Hanson; and three daughters, Kay Oberg of Madisonville, Sherril (C.U.) Revlett of Springfield, Tenn., and Cathy (Darold) Gamblin of Nortonville; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a brother, Clifton J. Dukes of Madison, Tenn. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, at Tucker Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. J.W. Haire officiating, and the Rev. John Butler assisting. Burial will be in Sacramento C.P. Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Sacramento C.P. Cemetery.
