Bio
Dr. H. Houston Long, Grand Saline, passed on to be with his Father in heaven on Thursday August 9, 2012 at the age of 75 in Corpus Christi, TX after a four month battle with renal cancer. He resided with his wife Julia Ann Long in Grand Saline, TX for the past 40 years. Dr. Long was born to John Andrew and Thelma Barnes Long July 30, 1937 in Crockett, TX. Houston was a member of the East Texas Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Hideaway Lake Study Club. He was also a Fellow in the American Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Long was a member of First United Methodist Church where he taught the men's bible class for many years. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday August 12 from 4-6 pm at Bartley Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Bartley Funeral Home of Grand Saline on Monday August 13 at 10am and burial to follow at Woodside Cemetery.
