Copied from Press Release 1945 S Sgt Harry Leroy Marshall crew chief of a P-47 Thunderbolt in the "Panzer Dusters" fighter squadron has been awarded the bronze star medal for maintaining the airplane for 100 consecutive combat missions without the plane once having to turn back because of mechanical failure. Sgt. Marshall repaired and serviced his plane from French and Belgian bases so that it could be flown on dive bombing and strafing missions ahead of the U.S. First Army. Since gaining the medal the plane has made 10 more trouble-free trips.
