Son of Rudolph & Emma Hines Kavan. Married on September 12, 1953 to Janet M. Best at North Bend, NE. Father of Kent, Kirk, Kevin, Kory & Kristy. FREMONT TRIBUNE (Fremont, Nebraska)- Saturday, December 12, 1998- Page 2. RAYMOND KAVAN NORTH BEND- The funeral for Raymond F. Kavan, 78, of North Bend will be 10 this morning at United Presbyterian Church in North Bend. He died Tuesday, December 8, 1998, at Fremont Area Medical Center. Kavan was born July 31, 1920, in Linwood. He lived at Linwood until 1931 when he and his family moved to a farm northwest of North bend. He continued to farm that same farm until 1998. He married Janet M. Best September 12, 1954, in North Bend. She died March 15, 1994. He also worked for Hoops Agri-Sales Company and Terra International Inc., both of North Bend for 20 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian church in North bend, and the ZCBJ Lodge (now known as Western Fraternal Life Association) at Morse Bluff. Survivors include: four sons, Kent (and wife Theresa) Kavan of Dunbar, Kirk (and wife Karen) of North Bend, Kevin (and wife, Julie) Kavan of Fremont, and Kory (and wife, Jane) Kavan of Lincoln; a daughter, Kristy Kavan of Lincoln; a brother, Arnold (and wife, Lorraine) Kavan of North Bend; two sisters, Wilma Mares and Vlasta Kavan, both of Fremont; and 10 grandchildren. The Rev. Don Canady will officiate todays service/ Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend. Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established to North Bend Little League Baseball Team.
