Jess William Lewellyn Sr., 78, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ, 6102 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, with Mr. Gladwyn Kiddoe, director of the School of Preaching in Kingston, Jamaica, and Mr. Bill Moses officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or 800-272-3900. Jess was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Cedar Hill to Jesse Ruth Lewellyn and Earlene Burns Lewellyn. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1953 and from the University of Texas with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering in 1960. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean war. Jess married his high school sweetheart, Lou Ann Truitt Lewellyn, on Aug. 5, 1955, 57 years to the day he passed away. He was owner and CEO of Texas H2O Water Utilities Co. in Mansfield for the past 16 years. Prior to that, he owned a building and contracting firm, The Glass Center of Hurst. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jess Lewellyn Jr., on May 3, 2012; sister, Nita Jones; brother, Wayne Lewellyn; and stepmother, Juanita Lewellyn. Survivors: Wife, Ann Lewellyn of Fort Worth; daughter, Debbie Hardie and husband, Butch, of Arlington; daughter-in-law, Pam Lewellyn of Mansfield; sisters, Addie Killian and husband, Murlyn, and Betty Hill and husband, Jim; and grandchildren, Brittany Allen and husband, Zach; Caroline Hardie, Meggie Lewellyn, Jess William "Ty" Lewellyn and Jack Lewellyn.
