Bio

Traci Ashton 1973 - 2012 Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Traci Ashton, died July 30, 2012, at her home in Spanish Fork. She was born June 23, 1973, to Bruce Dwane and Helen Wood Ashton, and was the youngest of six children. Traci loved learning from an early age, and excelled in school, graduating from Orem High School in 1990. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in accountancy and tax from Brigham Young University and became a certified public accountant. After graduation, Traci joined Deloitte and Touche in San Jose, California, as a tax accountant, rising to the level of senior tax manager before leaving the firm to become tax manager at Blue Coat Systems Inc., in Sunnyvale, California. In recent years, Traci returned to Utah to be close to her extended family, and worked for a small private accounting firm. She loved to travel, read, play games with family members, and was a gifted pianist, who could play by sight at any family event. She had a deep love for her family, particularly her nieces and nephews, who enjoyed visiting her home and playing with her pet rabbits. Traci loved the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas, and hosted legendary parties at her home on Christmas Eve that have become a tradition her family members will always remember. She was a deeply sensitive and generous person with a broad understanding of life's challenges. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she will be remembered with great fondness by her family for the lessons we learned from her. We look forward to a great reunion one day. We love you, Traci. She is survived by her parents, of Orem; her siblings: Carrie Moore, South Jordan; Tom and Wendy Mason, Orem; Quin and Gay Ashton, Highland; Brent and Tami Ault, American Fork; and Wade and Ann Ashton, Pleasant Grove, as well as 23 nieces and nephews, and 12 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Brad Moore, her friend and mentor.
