Clara Grace Reed Darter passed peacefully into eternal life on April 21, 2013. She had been battling a lengthy illness for many years. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Chapel in Wichita Falls, Texas at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 with Rev. Rod Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Burkburnett Cemetery under the ion of Lunns Colonial Funeral Home. Grace was born on June 1, 1920 on the family farm South of Taylor, Oklahoma. Graces parents, Joseph Charley and Dessa Park Reed, came to Randlett, I.T. with the Chap Park family in 1906 when the territory was made available for settlement. Grace married Otis Harold Darter February 4, 1938. They lived in the Taylor Store area for several years, later living in Byers, Texas. They moved to Burkburnett, Texas in 1952 where they resided the rest of their lives. To this union was born five children Charles, Jerry, Nancy, Lee and Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold her parents Charley Reed and Dessa Reed two brothers, Sharrell Reed and Eddie Reed one sister, Nora and soninlaw Ronnie Ramsey. Survivors include all five of her children: Charles Darter and wife Lafaye, Pottsboro, Texas Jerry Darter and wife Kaye, Kansas City, Missouri Nancy Darter Ramsey, Wichita Falls, Texas Lee Darter and Wayne Darter one brother, Tony Reed, Burkburnett, Texas six grandchildren: Doug Darter and Wife Marilynn, Dallas, Texas Ed Darter and wife Stephanie, Trophy Club, Texas Roland Ramsey and wife Laura, Wichita Falls, Texas Christy Darter Keading and husband Matt, Kansas City, Missouri LaVinia Ramsey McGuire and husband Mark, Wichita Falls, Texas Pam Darter Hart and husband Kerry, Lees Summit, Missouri six greatgrandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was a Christian mother and she showed kindness, tenderness and love to her children and she was known as Granny Grace to her kids and grandkids. The favorite memory of her kids and grandkids is going to Granny Graces house and enjoying all the good food and treats she always had. She was the heart and soul of our family and the reason for the closeness of our family today. We all dearly love our MomGranny Grace.
