+ Cecil W. "Bud" Gardner Cecil W. "Bud" Gardner, 74, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1993, in a Boise hospital. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Humpherys Funeral Home, Mountain Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Thursday. Dec. 30, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Mountain Home, with Father Raul Covarrubias presiding. Bud grew up and went to country schools in and around Merriman, La Baca Flats, and Pole Creek, Neb. He joined the U.S. Navy, and after the Navy he worked in Nebraska, then moved to Oregon where he worked in a sawmill. He relocated to South Dakota where he met and married S. Anna Hollowhorn. He worked at Igloo Army Depot for 14 years, and was transferred to Mountain Home in 1966. In 1979, he lost his wife, and he retired then in 1980. Bud loved to hunt, fish, and was an expert at gardening, but his family and his country were his pride and joy. Cecil remained close with all his brothers and sisters, with unconditional love for his children. Survivors include two sons, Ernest Gardner and John Gardner, both of Mountain Home; three daughters. Twyla Jenkins of Glendale, Calif., Alice Rinebolt of Mountain Home and Cynthia Gardner of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Charles E. of Shoshone, Earl P. of Glenns Ferry, Henry L. of Payette and Jerry W. Gardner of Shoshone; two sisters, Mildred Closson of Ontario, Ore., and Maxine Burke of Shoshone; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
