Carl Mickan (94483919) Suggested edit: From the Bartlett, Texas Tribune-Progress, Thursday, July 22, 1982, Page 8, Obituaries Carl Mickan Carl August Mickan, 98, of Copperas Cove died Monday in a Copperas Cove hospital after a brief illness. Services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home with the Rev. J. David Murdock officiating. Burial was in Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Mr. Mickan lived in Copperas Cove since 1914 and operated a Blacksmith Shop there for more than 60 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen and the Sons of Hermann Lodge in Schwertner. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alma Barber, in 1965. Survivors are his widow, Mathilda Mickan of Copperas Cove; a son, Emil O. Mickan of Belton; a daughter, Mrs. Herman G (Gertrude) Weiss of Holland; a brother, Alfred Mickan of Copperas Cove; a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Amanda) Brown of Austin; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
