James D. Hickenbot-tom, 69, of Lexington, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington, where he had been a resident for one day after a lengthy hospital stay. It was Jim's wishes his body be cremated. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor John Shields officiating. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hickenbottom of Lexington; one daughter, Shelly Hickenbottom of Lexington; one son, Jeremy (Shannon) Hickenbottom of Lincoln; grandchildren: Jennifer and Marcus of Ogallala, Chris of Lincoln, Doug of Lexington and Michaela of Lincoln; and great-grandchildren, Symon and Olivia of Ogallala and Daniel of Lincoln. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marilyn; one son, Scott; one grandson, Alex; one granddaughter, Morgan; two brothers, Donald and Alvin; and three sisters, Dorothy, Laura and Mildred. He was born Aug. 10, 1937, at Callaway, to Leslie and Anna (Lewis) Hickenbottom. Jim graduated from Callaway High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Morgan at Elwood, on June 8, 1958. To this union two children were born, Scott Duane and Shelly Jean. Marilyn passed away in April, 1961. He then married Barbara McCormack in Rupert, Ida., on Oct. 6, 1963. To this union one son was born, Jeremy James. Jim enjoyed farming for many years before going to work for Monroe Auto for 18 years. He had also worked for Independent Oil and Cargill in Elwood.
