Vivian "Vip" Lee Roberts, longtime farmer of Cimarron County, died Thursday, Feb. 2 at Cimarron Memorial Hospital.. He was 79 yrs. old. He was born April 4, 1909 in Marion, Ill. He married Hazel Berry July 21, 1929 at Texhoma, Okla. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of Keyes; one son, Bob Roberts of Keyes; two daughters, Joyce Renfrow and husband, Bob Renfrow of Alvin, Texas, Jacqueline Ferris and husband, Roger Ferris of McCloud, Okla.; two brothers, Monty Roberts of Kenton, Okla., Wendell Roberts of Sagus, Calif; two sisters, Beatrice Taggart of Livermore, Colo., Vinita Scott of Boise City; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Ferguson. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Keyes United Methodist Church with Galan Smith and Harold James officiating. Burial will be in the Willowbar Cemetery in Keyes under the direction of Cimarron Mortuary. Published in the Guymon Daily Herald, Thurs., March 9th, 1989, p. 10.
