Daughter of John & Mable (Drawbaugh) Burger. She graduated from Columbus High School and later from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Bachelors Degree in Education. On August 25, 1941, Ruth married Everett Haney in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They farmed in Scottsbluff before moving to a farm north of Rising City, Nebraska. Ruth was a music and elementary teacher in rural Butler County for 45 years. She enjoyed music, especially playing the organ and the piano, and preparing for the school music programs. Ruth was very social and was active in many clubs and organizations including the Butler County Choir, Rebekahs, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, and the Business Women's Professional Club. Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church, where she received her pin as a 75 year member. Ruth is survived by: Daughter - Marilee (James) Brown of Bennet, NE Son - John Haney of North Mankato, MN Sister - Mildred Dannelly of Genoa, NE Brother-in-law - Harold (Dorothy) Haney of SD Sister-in-law - Jean Lewis of WY Sister-in-law - Helen Rozanek of IA Ruth was preceded in death by: Parents - John & Mable (Drawbaugh) Burger Husband - Everett Haney
