Greenville (Texas) Herald Banner, Sun, 11 Jun 1972, page A2, Deaths, Broughton HOUSTON - Jessie Lee Broughton, 64, of 403 N. Ferry in Gladewater, died suddenly at 7:30 a.m. Friday here. Funeral services have been set for 3:30 p.m. today at the Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home Chapel, wth the Rev. Broad Hood officiating. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery. Pallbearers will be B.G. Woodson, Arthur Measles, Oely Cleveland, Buddy McCormick, Jerry Fuggit and R.J. Peavy. Mr. Broughton was born March 19, 1908, in Red River County, the son of Charley and Fannie Taylor Broughton. He married Veda Richardson Oct. 6, 1933, in Paris, Tex. He was a truck operator and attended the Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bobby Broughton of Longview, Kenneth Broughton of Gladewater and Wayne Broughton of Greenville; two daughters, Mrs. Estalene Bowman of Gladewater and Mrs. Charlsia Elliot of Dallas; a brother, Wesley Broughton of Paris, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Eta Tulley of Dallas, Mrs. Helen Smith of Houston and Mrs. Eva Baker of Cunningham; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
