Bio

Claude E. Schahrer, 33, Olney veteran of World War II, died at the Veterans' hospital, at Danville Sunday morning. He had been in the Army from induction on April 1, 1941, until he received his medical discharge in May, 1942. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Harmon Schahrer; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schahrer, all of Olney, a brother, Paul E. Schahrer, of the Army, and three sisters, Mrs. Paul Osborn, of Detroit, MI; Mrs. G. H. Davis and Mrs. Merle Zeitz, both of Assumption. Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon at Maple Dale cemetery with Rev. T. E. Snider in charge. Published in the Olney Advocate, Thursday, August 10, 1944. (IL)
