Bio

Leondias is buried in an unmarked grave. He married Maggie Lee Wallis, 10 November 1903, Texarkana, Miller Co., Arkansas. They were the parents of: Ola Bell, Ruth Lee, and Calvin Onddis McCown. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "Victim of Pneumonia," McKinney Democrat (Texas), Thursday, 3 February 1910. Y. L. G. McCown, aged 36 years, died Friday afternoon at 5:20 o'clock at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. McCown. No. -- South Chestnut street, of pneumonia, after an illness of about ten days. He was brought to the residence of his parents from his home near Fitzhugh Mills several days ago, for treatment, but his condition did not permanently improve and the disease resulted in his death at the hour stated. Y. L. G. McCown was born near Fayetteville, Lincoln county, Tenn. in 1874, and came to Texas in 1884 with his parents locating at Plano, where he resided until about five years ago when he moved to near Fitzhugh Mill. In 1905 he married Miss Maggie Wallace, daughter of Cab Wallace, deceased, who was a pioneer and highly respected citizen of this county. His wife and two children, his parents, brothers and sisters survive him. His children being two little daughters, one of whom is four years old and the other two. He was a member of the First Methodist church of this city and had many friends here and in the Fitzhugh Mill community, by all of whom he was held in the highest esteem. He had not been in good health for the past four years, and had suffered a great deal. Funeral services were conducted at the residence of his parents Saturday at 2 o'clock by Rev. Enloe of ---- assisted by Rev. W.D. Thompson and Dr. E. E. King of this city. The remains were buried in Pecan Grove cemetery. Many friends of the Fitzhugh Mills community attended the funeral. We extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones in their loss.
