Joseph Migura was from the Upper Silesian village of Zandowitz, Prussia. The name of the village was later spelled Sandowitz, Germany. The village is now called Zedowice, and it has been in Poland since the end of World War 2 in 1945. Joseph Migura came to America on the ship Hohenzollern, which departed from the port of Bremen, Germany in October 1881 and arrived at the port of New Orleans in November 1881. His wife was Mary (Marianna) Gwosdz. I have some records from the church in Wisnicze (Wischnitz-Kirschen), for the baptism of their son Casper Migura in 1880, that shows their home village as Zandowitz.
