TYLER DAILY COURIER TIMES Sept. 4, 1930 YOUTH KILLED AS LIGHTWIRE HITS TELEPHONE LINE Contact of electrical wires with a telephone line resulted in the death by electrocution of Gordon Sinclair, 21,a Southwestern Bell Company employee late Thursday near Van. He was stringing a telephone line out of Grand Saline when the wires came together and 11,000 volts of electricity passed through his body, killing him instantly. Other workers nearby and Texas Power and Light employees out of Tyler worked over Sinclair's body to no avail.
