A funeral service for Mrs. Janette Lee Dean, 53, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Laird Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with Joshua Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Dean was born a twin on December 12, 1958, to Mr. Arthur Stripling and Sheila Doris Maisey in Houston, Texas. She passed away on July 6, 2012, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Janette grew up in Mecklenburg, Gastonia, NC, where she attended Ashbrook High School in Gastonia, NC. Where she obtained her GED and later graduated as a nurse's aide/ physical Therapy assistant and Later she moved to Nacogdoches, Texas. Janette married Mitch Upton in 1982. In February, 1987, she married Mike Dean and was widowed in 2002. Janette loved riding houses and Harley motorcycles; she also loved to dance country and western. She was a wonderful aunt, loved to visit friends and family and was a very loving care giver to the elderly. Janette attended Peritte Memorial Church in Nacogdoches and was raised a Methodist. In Gastonia, NC at Ashbrook High School she was in the Color Guard where they won best out of two states two years in a row. She is survived by her brother, Steve Stripling of Nacogdoches, sister, Lynda Y'Barbo of Chireno; First cousin, Teri Winfree of Mineloa, Texas; nephews, Justin Ward, Richard Lyles of Nacogdoches nieces, Taylor Reneau, Tracy Lyles Board of Hawkins, Tx., Stephanie Strilpling of Columbia, SC, Jennifer Stripling of Charlotte, NC; and great nieces, Kinsley Wright of Hawkins, Tx., Celina Stripling of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Stripling and Sheila Doris Maisey and her twin sister, Annette Reneau. www.lairdfunerlhome.net
