Elderly Women Burn To Death NACOGDOCHES - Two elderly women of the Walnut Grove community in Nacogdoches County burned to death Friday afternoon while attempting to burn some grass from around the residence which they shared. The women were identified as Mrs. Horace Lunsford, 74, and her sister-in-law, Miss Mittie Lunsford, 72. One of the women apparently caught fire and fell while burning the grass, and the other came in for the same fate when she tried to lend assistance. Miss Lunsford managed to call a neighbor for help, but both women were dead by the time a doctor arrived from Garrison, some five miles away. The fatal accident ' occurred about 2:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral arrangements for the pair are pending at the Oakley- Metcalf Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. Mrs. Lunsford is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eva Miller, Mrs. Vera Sangster, Mrs. Lois Sparks and Mrs. Brazzie Nimmo, all of Houston; two sons, Taylor Lunsford, also of Houston, and Clark Lunsford of Garrison. Mrs Lunsford is survived by one sister, Mrs. Kosa Mae Bell of Garrison, and two brothers, Bob Lunsford and H. T. Lunsford, both of Garrison.
