One of Wallace's talents was wood carving. At one of the Wallace-Lewis Family Reunions held at Red Top Mountain State Park, Wallace presented letter openers carved from the cedar tree in the yard of the Wallace home site at 214 Ayers Avenue, Marietta, Georgia, to his first cousins. The Marietta (Georgia) Journal (need date) "Marietta Boys Choir to Give Friday Program" The Boys Choir was composed of boys selected from all the elementary schools of the city and was directed by Miss Ruth Leah Ogden. Its initial appearance was at the First Methodist Church, sponsored by the Waterman School P.T.A. Wallace was a soloist singing "Over the Rainbow." The Choir was scheduled to appear at the Marietta Kiwanis Club in March and would be presented in concert in the spring. 1958 April 16 - The Marietta (Georgia) Journal "Private Wallace B. Barfield, formerly stationed at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, where he underwent basic training with the U.S. Army, spent a recent furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Barfield in Marietta. Pvt. Barfield and his wife are now making their home in San Antonio, Texas, while he is stationed at Fort Sam Houston with the Signal Corps." Obituary: Wallace Bradley Barfield, Sr., 77, of Smyrna died Thursday, June 28, 2012. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Mableton with Rev. John Sprangler officiating. Interment will be in Crest Hill Cemetery in Marietta. Survivors include two sons, Brad Barfield and his wife, Tina of Carrolton, Chris Barfield of Marietta; one daughter, Katrena Thacker and her husband, Alan of Thomaston; three sisters, Frieda Edwards and her husband, Richard of Marietta, Tillie Morgan and her husband, Ed of Center, AL, Paula Mills of Center; two grandsons, Bryan and Brad Barfield of Carrolton; former spouse, Carolyn Hicks Barfield of Marietta; several nieces and nephews.
