Greenville Herald Banner, Tue, 24 Sep 1957, page 2, Former Resident Dies in Oklahoma John Robert Moore, formerly of Greenville and father of the late Mrs. Raymond Trotter, died at 10 p.m. Monday in Wewoka, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Wewoka and Greenville services at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in East Mount Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Morgan Smith, pastor of Kavanaugh Methodist Church will officiate. Local arrangements are being made by James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home. Mr. Moore moved to Greenville from Tennessee, where he was born Oct. 5, 1881. He lived in and near Greenville until 1937, when he moved to Oklahoma. He was a retired appliance salesman and during his residence here was an active member of Kavanaugh Methodist Church. At the time of his death he held membership in the First Methodist Church in Wewoka. Surviving are his wife, the former Della Britton, whom he married in Greenville in 1906; one son, Thomas R. Moore, Wewoka; five grandchildren, Ann Stafford Craft, New Jersey, Tisch and Meredith Moore, Wewoka, R.E. Trotter Jr. and Dellalou Trotter, Greenville; five brothers and two sisters. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Trotter, and two grandchildren.
