Much of the information contained in this memorial is speculation. She may have been born in Georgia; although, there are other sources showing North Carolina and Virginia. Also, her date of birth is shown as about 1815 but some sources show about 1820. Here are the traces of information we have located regarding Mary. She was married to Benjamin Columbus Collier. After the death of Benjamin Columbus Collier, Mary married Joseph J. Keith. Based on the 1880 census records, Mary was living in Town Bluff, Tyler County, Texas, in the household of her daughter, Rebecca Ivey (Collier) Jordan and her husband, James Pinckney Jordan. The 1880 census shows Mary as a widow and with the last name Phillips. We do not have much information regarding her last husband, William Phillips. However, based on the 1870 U. S. Census report, it appears he may have had a daughter, Eliza Phillips, by a previous marriage. I have placed Mary in the Beech Creek Cemetery* until additional information can be found. This information is unverified. Should anyone have additional information please contact this contributor. Thank you. Mary had the following children with Benjamin Columbus Collier: Mary Frances Ann Collier Jordan (1833 - 1921) Rebecca Ivey Collier Jordan (1837 - 1917) Henry Mitchell Collier (1839 - 1926) William Granberry Collier (1840 - 1919) *The Beech Creek Baptist Church was organized on September 24, 1855. There were eight Charter Members that came to this settlement from Georgia. They were: James G. Collier and his wife Elizabeth, Mary Keith, Mary Caswell, Valumnia Freeman, Lucy Ratcliff, Thomas Collier and Margaret Baker.
