Bio
Adeline A. Zima was born in Wahoo, Nebraska on July 15, 1924. She was the youngest of seven children of Frank and Mary (Hladik) Spicka. Adeline was raised on a farm southwest of Wahoo, NE where she attended a nearby country school before attending Wahoo High School. She later graduated from beauty school in Lincoln, NE. Adeline was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed music and nature. Adeline lived and worked in California and Idaho before moving back to Nebraska and marrying John J. Zima on September 24, 1959 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo, NE. The couple lived southeast of Cedar Bluffs until moving to their farm southwest of Mead, NE in 1962. Adeline passed away on April 28, 2011 at the Hooper Care Center, Hooper, NE. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Frank, Adolph, Henry and Emil Spicka, sisters, Helen Ourada and Lillian Kavan, brothers in law, sisters in law, two nieces and a nephew. She is survived by her children and spouses, Patti and Steve Cernin of Wahoo, NE, MaryAnn and Brad Petersen of Herman, NE, Randy and Karla Zima of Mead, NE, 6 grandchildren, Samantha and Rod Knapp, Jacob Cernin, Ashley and Mike Blohm, Heather Petersen and special friend Steve Fastenau, Dane Petersen and special friend, Katie Helgenberger, Cole Zima, 6 great grandchildren, Kameron Knapp, Brooklynn, Peyton and Brynn Blohm, Sophia Petersen, Skyler Fastenau, sister in law, Rose (Spicka) Keelan of Lincoln, NE and many other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, May 3, 2011 ~ 10:00 AM St. James Catholic Church, Mead, Nebraska Interment ~ Sunrise Cemetery, Wahoo, Nebraska Visitation & Rosary: Monday, May 2, 2011 Visitation ~ 4:00-8:00 PM Rosary ~ 7:00 PM Svoboda Funeral Home Family will be present after 6:00 PM
